About Me

My Food Journey

Hi my name is Julie Kromash and I absolutely love food. Like most other foodies, my story started when I was really young. My mom taught me at 6 years old how to make mashed potatoes. From then on I realized my mom wasn’t the best cook, and my dad knew a lot. He became my inspiration. He has worked in the food industry as a food salesman working for multiple large food distributors in the area since before I was born. Therefore, I would spend my Saturday afternoons, not playing on the playground like most elementary school kids, but with my dad going into different kitchens in the Maryland/DC area. During the week, I would watch Food Network more than any other TV channel, dreaming of becoming a chef on TV. As I got older and received my dad’s constant advice, I realized that being a chef on TV may not be the most stable and reliable career choice. That is when I discovered nutrition. When applying to college, I knew I wanted to study Nutrition. Now, I am studying Culinary Nutrition – Dietetics at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island with a new dream. I plan to become a Pediatric Registered Dietitian. I inspire children to eat healthy and get excited about food. Take a look at my KREATIONS to get inspired and gain a fresh outlook on the world of food.
